Workflow / Fusion

Your design.
An editable Fusion composition.

Build the graphic in carvercat, shape the animation, and continue with the supported result in Resolve’s Fusion workspace.

Development workflow · edition and release qualification required

Keep the source and the destination clear.

carvercat authors its own composition. The local generator prepares supported elements as a Fusion composition. The delivered result can retain editable elements; a rendered movie or image sequence is a different output choice.

Know the environment you are sending to.

  • A candidate whose advertised workflow includes your feature set.
  • The exact Resolve edition and version, with the route’s documented setup.
  • A deliberately chosen project, timeline, track and placement.
  • Available original media/fonts and resolved template or asset requests.
  • A saved source and a disposable destination for the first exercise.

Internal Windows and Mac development evidence does not establish a publicly supported platform/edition matrix. Do not change Resolve security settings based on generic advice.

Make a small graphic first.

  1. Create a comp with deliberate dimensions, frame rate and duration.
  2. Add text and a supporting shape. Edit each independently.
  3. Animate a supported property and inspect first, intermediate and settled frames.
  4. Save, reopen and compare the source before involving another application.

A simple lower third is a better first qualification task than a complex scene with many untested effects.

Review the plan, then send.

  1. Open Deliver and choose the intended output method: editable Fusion rather than rendered media.
  2. Choose the destination and scope, including full comp or the marked range.
  3. Review project/timeline identity, track, placement and insert/replace intent.
  4. Read limitations or refusal reasons. Send only after the plan matches your intention.
  5. Inspect the actual clip and Fusion composition; a completion message is only one part of the evidence.

Change something in Fusion.

CheckWhat a useful demonstration shows
AppearanceIntended type, geometry, colour and supported effects in actual destination frames
AnimationIntermediate motion, frame placement, duration and the last visible frame
EditabilityA real change to a supported text/style/animation control
PersistenceThe delivered composition and intended change survive destination save/reopen
ReliabilityTarget identity, failure handling and an unambiguous result before any retry

Custom exposed controls inside carvercat are not automatically a promise of an identical control panel in Resolve’s Edit Inspector.

Handle uncertainty before another send.

If a response times out, inspect Resolve and delivery state before sending again. The write may have completed. A known failed send and an unknown outcome require different recovery decisions. Undo inside carvercat should not be assumed to roll back files or writes to Resolve.
