Start with the composition.
A project contains compositions, or comps. Each comp has its own frame size, rate and duration. Its canvas shows the picture; its timeline places objects in time. You can revise both without treating the result as a flattened image.

Text, shapes and paths.
The vector foundation brings typography, fills, strokes, gradients, transforms and editable paths into the same composition. Start with a simple title or shape and refine its appearance before adding motion.
- Check the actual font and wrapping after changing wording.
- Use an anchor to choose the pivot for rotation and scale.
- Keep path topology consistent when animating points.
- Inspect Boolean/compound results, including holes and contours.
Give the graphic its timing.
Place keys on supported parameters, shape easing and inspect the frames between endpoints. Organise entrances and exits. Text Stagger uses supported underlying animation to offset movement across words, characters or lines.
Shared design. Deliberate variations.
Build a source composition, expose useful controls and place instances in another comp. Edit the source for shared changes, or an instance’s exposed controls for a variation. Revert restores inheritance; typing the source value still leaves an override.
Edit directly, or bring an agent.
Local MCP lets compatible clients discover state and supported operations. The agent should identify the intended comp, make a bounded edit, inspect it, and refresh state after you change something manually. You retain the editable project.
Finish where your edit lives.
Fusion is the principal destination. Editable compositions and rendered media are different delivery choices. Supported file output can also enter other editors through their own import workflows; this is not equivalent native integration.
A native, local foundation.
carvercat uses a native Rust editor and a GPU-accelerated canvas with its own preview/rendering engine. Its Rust Fusion generator runs locally. Resolve interaction includes Python; the complete connection is not Rust end to end.
Essential vector tools lead the product direction. Raster expansion is being explored as the foundation matures. The initial workspace complements editing and compositing applications.
